Who We Are

The Workforce Development Board Center for Business Excellence is a Florida private non-profit organization serving the workforce development and planning needs for the two-county region of Volusia and Flagler.

WDB Services for Businesses
The Workforce Development Board is contracted with the state of Florida to provide recruitment-related services, human resource information and training opportunities to our business community. Our services are funded through various public and private sources. Our job is to help our business community put these dollars to work for them to help reduce recruitment costs, and provide the information and resources they need to attain and maintain qualified employees at no additional cost to the business.

The WDB Center for Business Excellence and its One-Stop Career System offers a team of Business Services Representatives dedicated to serving the individual needs of local businesses. The unit is charged with coordinating services at the Center for Business Excellence and at the One-Stop Career Centers to meet business hiring and training needs. Services include job postings, business workshops, recruitment services, layoff and reemployment services and education regarding business assistance and training resources. The WDB is one of twenty-four Regional Workforce Boards in the state and is the local administrative entity for federal and state employment and training funds for the two-county region. The WDB provides workforce investment services to the local region through its One-Stop Career System.
The Board of Directors of the WDB is led by a private-sector majority and is comprised of executives from a broad spectrum of professions, businesses and industry. The Board insures that WDB’s efforts support local business needs and facilitates partnerships and initiatives between business, educational institutions, labor, economic development efforts, government, community based organizations, training providers and employment firms.
