Project SELF
Center for Business Excellence (CBE) is a provider of employment and training services to all business and job seekers in Volusia and Flagler Counties.
We operate three full service centers called One-Stop Employment Centers in Daytona Beach, DeLand and Palm Coast. CBE provides services to at-risk youth who need assistance earning their high school diploma, or its equivalent, earning skills to gain employment, and finding employment.
For Youthful Independence (FYI), a committee of our Board of Directors, provides guidance to our youth programs. FYI has made serving youth aging out of foster care a priority of our agency. CBE is accepting applications from youth who need assistance in gaining their self-sufficiency as they leave foster care.

Intent of Project SELF:
• Provide funds to assist with employment, education or living needs
|
Criteria for Project SELF:
• Youth is in foster care or has just left foster care
• Youth is 17 years old/exceptions may be made by committee
• Youth is in school or employed
• Youth is resident of Volusia or Flagler County • A plan for self-sufficiency is in place and implemented (attestation from
referring agency may be requested)
• There is no other avenue for funds

Examples of services available:
• Assistance with items needed for
employment, like uniforms or tools.
• Tuition, books and supplies for
post-secondary education.
• Deposits or rent for housing assistance.
• Household items, such as dishes and pans
to set up kitchen.
